Breast augmentation is performed mainly by inserting implants but can also be performed with fat grafts known as lipofilling. The problem with fat grafts is that a significant amount is required and often 2 operations are needed to obtain a sufficient breast augmentation.
Many things have changed in recent years. Implants have become very reliable. I now advise their replacement every 20 to 25 years, not every 10 years as was previously the case.
